Redbourn Capital Is looking at developing low carbon and environmental infrastructure with a focus on Energy from Waste (EfW) projects, Green Hydrogen infrastructure, Storage schemes and other low carbon infrastructure.
The initial focus is on EfW projects and Redbourn has co-founded a sister company, R&P Clean Power, with a business partner to develop a portfolio of projects both in the UK and globally. R&P as a team have over 35 years of experience in project development and asset management in the low-carbon energy generation space.
R&P has unique in-house development expertise spanning all aspects of EfW infrastructure development as well as across the asset management spectrum from sourcing, financing and long-term management.
The Directors have worked in the energy from waste sector delivering plants around the UK. For this project, R&P Clean Power will use standard combustion technology to produce renewable energy from residual and commercial and industrial waste.
This facility along with others are helping us to manage our waste more sustainably by diverting waste from landfill, reducing the amount of waste exports, while transforming residual and commercial and industrial waste into low carbon, renewable heat and power.
The flagship project is the Swadlincote Energy Recovery Facility (SERF) situated in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. The project has been designed to combust 230,000 tonnes of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) in a conventional moving grate boiler to recover 20MWe of power via proven standard combustion.
The Development team is assessing further EfW development opportunities both in the UK, Europe and in the US.
